Lazy Cow Creamery Information

Lazy Cow Creamery at 699 S Willow Ave in Cookeville is a locally rooted ice cream and sandwich shop built around handcrafted frozen desserts, made-to-order deli sandwiches, and an easygoing place to linger over something sweet. The South Willow shop serves as the brand’s flagship location, adding a drive-thru to a concept that began with house-made ice cream.

Ice cream remains the heart of Lazy Cow Creamery. The shop offers scoops and cones, milkshakes, floats, sundaes, and banana splits, with fresh waffle cones when available. Rather than relying only on familiar standards, its rotating flavor selection gives regulars a reason to look at the case before deciding. “Silly Old Bear” is one flavor repeatedly mentioned in reviews, while dairy-free frozen desserts and current no-sugar-added and keto selections broaden the appeal for guests looking beyond conventional dairy ice cream.

For a more substantial stop, Lazy Cow Creamery also makes deli sandwiches to order. Options such as The Usual, with oven-roasted turkey and cheddar, and The Chick, built around honey-grilled chicken and sharp cheddar, make the shop workable for a casual lunch before the ice cream rather than simply an after-dinner dessert run. Sandwiches can be ordered for dine-in or through the drive-thru.

The atmosphere fits that unfussy approach. Recent visitors repeatedly describe the newer space as clean, comfortable, and inviting, while outdoor seating gives warm-weather visits a relaxed finish. Reviews also consistently point to patient, friendly staff and generous serving sizes. The combination feels particularly natural for families, friends taking a break while running errands, couples sharing dessert, or small groups looking for somewhere casual rather than a formal dinner setting.

There are practical considerations worth knowing. Lazy Cow Creamery states that flavors and freshly made waffle cones are subject to availability, so a specific favorite may not always be waiting in the case. Guests with serious food allergies should also read the shop’s allergen guidance carefully: production and service involve shared equipment, although the business outlines additional handling procedures and separate practices for its dairy-free desserts. Outdoor seating, takeout, parking, and wheelchair accessibility are currently listed for the South Willow location.

For a laid-back Cookeville lunch, an afternoon ice cream break, or an evening dessert with family or friends, Lazy Cow Creamery offers a distinctive local alternative centered on handcrafted ice cream and straightforward deli fare. Stop in, explore what is in the flavor case, and give yourself time to enjoy the sweeter side of Cookeville. Hours, services, events, and availability may change.

What People's Say About Place

Big selection of flavors you don't see in most ice cream shops. We had sweet cream, cherry chocolate, and a scoop with honey in it, also one with honey comb, teddy grahams with a sweet cream vase. Didn't get all the names but will for sure be back! Fresh, creamy and all natural flavors! Great service and clean store! Don't miss out!

If you're a true ice cream lover, Lazy Cow Creamery is an absolute must-visit. Hands down, they have the best ice cream I've ever had—no exaggeration. From the first bite, you can tell this isn't your run-of-the-mill scoop. It’s rich, creamy, and tastes homemade in the best way possible. You can actually taste the love and care that goes into every batch. My personal favorite flavor is “Silly Old Bear.” It’s got this cozy, nostalgic vibe—like a dessert version of a warm hug. The flavor is unique and delicious, and I was thrilled to discover they sell it in cake form, too. Having it as a frozen cake is incredibly convenient—I keep it in the freezer and slice off a little whenever the craving hits. No more rushing out to get my fix! Another cool surprise: they sell freshly roasted coffee beans from local roasters. If you're into good coffee, definitely check it out—the beans are top-notch, super fresh, and a great bonus to an already amazing ice cream stop. The prices are more than fair for the quality you’re getting. The only downside? The parking lot. It’s more than a little awkward to get in and out of, so just be prepared for that. But honestly, it’s a small inconvenience for something this good. Highly, highly recommend Lazy Cow Creamery. Once you try it, you’ll keep coming back.

Amazing as always. Stellar outdoor seating, great dairy free flavors, huge selection, clear pricing. The new space made an already incredible favorite even better!

If you're going to spend the calories on ice cream, you may as well spend them on the best. You'll find the absolute best at Lazy Cow Creamery! It is real, authentic, gourmet ice cream. It's unbelievable! The owner makes every ingredient from scratch! He's so friendly and welcoming. His passion for his business is inspiring. After trying Lazy Cow, I don't think I'll ever be able to enjoy processed ice milk from other places again!

Absolutely the best ice cream ever. Hand made right there with mostly natural ingredients. My mom loves it as well, it barely affects her sugar level. Absolutely suggest it to anyone that loves ice cream. It's a little pricey, but oh so worth it. Keep up the great work y'all.

Holy Cow Lazy Cow! What an amazing milkshake! I was a little disappointed I couldn't try the banana pudding version because it was sold out. BUT, the universe had it all figured out because that pushed me to try the cookie monster shake instead. Oh my was it SO GOOD! Everyone in our car was raving about their shakes, and we take our milkshakes way too seriously. Smiles and thumbs up from all of us doesn't happen often.

Great crew and ice cream. They have both seasonal and full time flavors, which they make on site. They also make keto ice cream and other types of speciality ice cream. When I am in Cookeville that is always one of my stops.

The best cream to ever touch my lips. Beautiful views, big scoops. Just the way I like it (~$10 double scoop sundae! Yum… loved sharing w my partner with the outside seating at sunset) Ladies there are nice and patient!
